Declaration of Independence: Rights come from GOD, and the purpose of government is to secure the rights GOD gave us – by protecting us from those who seek to take our Rights away from us.
In 10 minutes, Pastor Wallace lays out THE FIRST PRINCIPLES of government. We can not fix our Country unless we understand and return to these Founding Principles recognized in our Declaration of Independence:
- All men are created equal.
2. Rights come from God.
3. The purpose of government is to secure the rights God gave us.
4. When a government doesn’t secure the Rights God gave us, we have the right to throw it off and set up a new government.
But let us NOT blame the governments for our problems. WE are the ones who rejected the Principle that the purpose of government is to secure the rights God gave us. WE wanted a government which stole for us – which benefited us at the expense of others – which allowed us to live at other peoples’ expense – which shielded us from the consequences of our own vices – which protected us from the risks and uncertainties of life – which provided for our needs – and which allowed us to shirk personal and family responsibilities.
We must repent of our misuse of government and restore government to its rightful purpose.
Here I show how our Constitution lived up to this Founding Principle of the purpose of government: https://publiushuldah.wordpress.com/2014/12/01/how-our-federal-constitution-secures-our-god-given-rights/

Since rights come from God, and government exists to secure these rights, the US Constitution applies to people born elsewhere, and our Government must also protect the rights of people who want to immigrate here from other countries. Right? If not, the US Government is refusing to do God’s will. Right?

From where did you get the notion that the US Constitution applies outside of the United States?
Your reasoning is faulty on additional grounds as well; but I expect it is useless to try to instruct you. Only a wise person listens to instruction – a fool sneers at correction.

No, God does not give us rights. Governments do. Might makes right. Period. If the subjects of the government want more rights, they must reform or replace government through politics or war.

Our Founding Principle is that Rights come from God and that the purpose of gov’t is to secure the rights God gave us. But some have rejected those Founding Principles.
Take a look at the UN Declaration of Human Rights – the authors of that agree with you: https://publiushuldah.wordpress.com/2013/07/28/parental-rights-god-given-and-unalienable-or-government-granted-and-revocable/

Whoa, Nellie. Please read and understand the Preamble to the United States Constitution. Especially the part that says “We the People…” and “…in Order to form a more perfect Union…” and “…establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare,…” and “…and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity…” and “…do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” Where in hell does it say that the government gave us these Rights, Privileges and Immunities. The Constitution hadn’t been ratified when these words were written, hence, there was no government only God and “We the People”. Certainly, “We the People” did not dictate to God what Rights they wanted because God already gave them all Rights with the caveat that we love one another. How’s that going? Not to good? Then you and those like minded need to get Right with God.
Incidentally, how are the subjects in China, Russia, Venezuela, etc. doing in securing more rights for themselves against tyrannical governments? I won’t hold my breath in waiting for your treatise explaining your views and solutions on the subject of securing more rights.

It has occurred to me that Bob was speaking cynically – describing the position of those who have (unlawfully) seized power over our Country: they take the position that the scope & extent of our rights is determined by them. With forced injections of the DNA-altering JAB (in the military, etc.); injections of children without their parents’ knowledge & informed consent; the murder of unarmed Patriots; they seek to strip us of our God-given right to Life!

It would be interesting to have this pastor’s sermon, and the beliefs of many here (many of which I share) juxtaposed with the views of another Christian lawyer (Ted Weiland) who says that the U.S. Constitution is an explicit repudiation of the Ten Commandments.
That would be an interesting debate. I’m not sure on which side I come down on that question. Al I know is that I agree with Spooner, that the Constitution is not a binding contract or compact, whereby every citizen must obey it. At best, it might be a valid compact among the States, but it has no power to bind individuals who have not explicitly consented to be governed by it
I recognize I would be in the distinct minority (of one) on this forum.
Peace..

1. You illustrate a basic misunderstanding of the US Constitution. The US Constitution doesn’t bind & control the People! Perish the thought! To the contrary, with the US Constitution, WE THE PEOPLE created the federal government and laid out – enumerated – listed – the Powers WE decided that our “creature” (the federal gov’t) would be allowed to have.
The problems in our Country arose because of the intellectual, moral, & religious collapse of the American People. Instead of demanding that the fed gov’t do no more than secure – in the limited ways appropriate to the national gov’t of a federation of sovereign States – some of the Rights God gave us, WE THE PEOPLE demanded a fed gov’t which “did” for us – gave us handouts, protected us from the consequences of our own vices, etc.
2. Spooner certainly didn’t understand statecraft. See, e.g., this magnificent short paper by Mike Maharrey of the Tenth Amendment Center: https://publiushuldah.files.wordpress.com/2021/06/maharrey-constitution-flyer.pdf
3. Is Ted Weiland now claiming to be a lawyer?

He is 100% right and saying the same I have been saying for the last 30 years at least, to no avail. We are our own worst enemies when we fail in this regard. As has always been the case you only get out of life what is reflected upon the effort which you put into it. We cannot expect to keep our freedoms given us by God unless we put the effort into keeping those same freedoms. This is what needs be taught in ALL schools instead of the asinine drivel presently taught.

Yes, we need more real men like Pastor Wallace in our pulpits. The lace-panty wearing weaklings now in so many of our pulpits who tell us to obey civil gov’t are disgusting. Hard to believe they are so ignorant that they don’t know that the Bible tells us to refuse to obey civil authorities when they violate God’s Laws. After the Nuremberg Trials, we hung NAZIS who obeyed Hitler instead of God’s laws. But it seems that the clergy has always been a magnet for evil men – look at how the Bible refers to so many of them as “hirelings” & “false shepherds”.

Study this Paper https://publiushuldah.wordpress.com/2012/06/23/the-biblical-foundation-of-our-constitution/
I didn’t list there all of the passages in the Bible where the Faithful disobey civil authorities who are violating God’s Laws: remember also, e.g., the Hebrew midwives at Exodus 1:8-22; Acts 5:17-et seq.
The Puritans who settled this Land were right – everyone must read the Bible for himself. I have met few pastors who have read anything other than proof texts for their particular denomination. They have no idea what the Bible says!
